Chefs for Scher, in conjunction with the James Beard Foundation, held its inaugural event Saturday, February 21, 2009, during the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. The luncheon, hosted by chef Scott Conant (left) of Scarpetta at the Fontainebleau Hotel, was heartwarming and delicious, featuring the talents of our host chef, along with that of Charlie Trotter, John Fraser, Jean-Marie Auboine and Jean Luc Le Du. Proceeds from the spectacular afternoon went to the Steven Scher Memorial Scholarship for Aspiring Restaurateurs and the James Beard Foundation.
